Betis confidently played the first half: a brace from Ayoze Perez (23rd and 54th minutes) put Atletico in a critical position. However, after the introduction of Alvaro Morata and Saul Niguez, the game of the Madrid team transformed.

Tactical fracture
In the 67th minute, Simeone switched to a 3-5-2 formation, bringing on Morata in place of defender Savić. The move paid off: just 10 minutes later, Antoine Griezmann reduced the deficit, and five minutes before the end, Correa leveled the score.
This draw leaves Atlético in 4th place in the table with 58 points, while Betis (47 points) missed the chance to move into the Europa League zone.
